Supporting Young people on the Aspergers Scale
Young people on the Aspergers Scale have particular gifts and challenges which leads to them often being misunderstood. We help these talented young people to understand themselves better, develop their communication skills and work to their strengths. Expanding their somewhat over-focused worlds reaps many benefits for them both immediately and in the long term future.
Below are comments from a Pupil Referral Unit and a young person diagnosed as being on the Aspergers Scale.
"Thank you for all the work you carried out within the school which assisted many of the pupils to have positive experiences. Examples that come to mind are that of Ashley who using his autistic strengths was able to spell a 34 letter sentence (from rote memory) backwards....I believe you made a lasting difference to many of the children who attend this school."

"Last week I had isolation with... Ms Vidal. Ms Vidal made me change the way I was thinking... This week things have been different because on Tuesday 5th December 2006 a boy who threatened me took it back and instead of beating me he said that he was sorry. Later that day I was waiting for my ICT teacher outside when some (4-5) boys walked by. These boys usually beat me up, but this time they offered to shake my hand and said/asked if I was okay and walked off and I was shocked. Ms Vidal said change would happen but I didn't expect it to happen so fast."
