Challenging Behaviour
Every young person has a reason for their unhelpful behaviours. When they are shown how to manage their mind, honour and treat themselves with respect, and make the changes that support their best interests, 'from the inside, out', there will be improvements.
Take the example of 13 year old Howard. He had anger issues, which was affecting other young people both in the classroom and the playground. In our discussions Howard revealed that his dad had died the previous year. He said this ".. gave me .. a crying emotional feeling in my knuckles". (Which he sated by sinking them into other pupils on a regular basis). Howard was helped to naturally and automatically give himself the emotional and moral support and comfort that his dad used to give him, whilst also harnessing his more empowering emotions and using them to fulfil his goals. Howard's feedback on the results were:
"... now I am captain of my school (football) team and I got man of the match and I led my team to Victory. This stuff has also helped me in school work because I am getting very high scores in my tests, science, English and maths. I came second highest in my year for maths and RE."
Howard P, Aged 13 years
When pupils are true to the best that is in them they can make rapid changes.
When John arrived in class 8G, last year, he had behaviour problems. Lateness to lessons, out of uniform, constantly calling and shouting in class, anger management problems, rude to staff, and more seriously he was involved in thefts several times. John dramatically improved during last term He arrived on time, wearing the correct uniform and responded to staff instructions better. As a reward .. he was allowed to join the end of year trip to Chessington, during which he behaved impeccably.
